Our Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) students at ACVET recently had an exciting opportunity to visit the Discovery Bay Early Learning and Kindergarten. This hands-on experience offered them valuable insights into early childhood education practices and environments.
During the visit, our students observed and participated in a range of activities, including interactive play, storytelling, and creative arts sessions. They were able to engage with both the educators and children, witnessing firsthand how early learning concepts are applied in real-world settings. This experience helped deepen their understanding of child development, learning styles, and the importance of creating nurturing environments for young learners.
The staff at Discovery Bay shared their approaches to fostering cognitive, social, and emotional growth in young children. Our students were particularly inspired by the centre’s emphasis on play-based learning, a core principle in early childhood education.
This visit not only allowed our students to apply their theoretical knowledge but also enriched their learning journey, providing them with practical skills and confidence as they prepare for their future roles as early childhood educators.
